the prices in pamps r no different to last year.
the big problem is the pound value which cant be blamed on bulgaria. last year we were getting 2.75 to the pound this year averaging 2.00 to the pound.
no matter were u go and fueverantura u will also find expenses with the poor euro
In Pamps at the moment and having a FABULOUS time. Snow is great, had a good fall last night. Prices are as mentioned no different to last year and in many cases cheaper - 4 of us for lunch (Adults) in the bulgaria Bar, food, drinks and a complimentry Rika was 25 lev - less than 12 quid, try getting that in France!! The slopes are very quiet, only had to wait a couple of times for the lift when the 3 man was closed for checking after a lightening strike. Anyone who does not think ...

The slopes are very quiet, only had to wait a couple of times for the lift when the 3 man was closed for checking after a lightening strike. Anyone who does not think Bulgaria is value for money hasn't been here. Its about time people started confirming the good bits instead of being so negative. Just as a final point. they have recently sacked the managers of the lift centre and I have seen the snow cannons and peist machines workng overtime to maintain the slopes. Times they are a changing
The Snow Shack webcam doesn't make the resort look very inviting. Check out today's most recent image. An area of mud with some bare-looking slopes in the background.
Thats the problem with making assumptions from pictures rather than listening to people on the ground. I skiied down route 5 on the right of the 3 man down to Malina where the snow shack cam is. there was a patch just above malina that was a bit bare but the rest was fantastic. Everyone I spoke to on the lifts, on the peist and in the restaurants were saying how much they enjoyed the conditins and the skiing. Anyone coming out next week will have a fantastic time - more snow expected ...

Shows what little you know about the resort then Graybo.
The area you can see is heavily salted to prevent cars getting stuck. (Make sense so far?)
The 'slopes' you see in the background are merely the access area to the lifts and they are always kept fairly sparce of snow to allow for ease of access.
I have spoken to people in the resort today who said the skiing was awsome and they were having a ball.
Big decision cancelling a holl based on a boards comments- especially since we have quite a few well known troublemakers!
i would feel pretty **ssed off having cancelled and seeing the recent conditions!
have faith- its a holliday, its there to make!
PP, that is my point precisely. If I'm a punter who is thinking about booking a ski-ing holiday and think to myself, 'Wonder what Pamporovo is like,' it's highly likely that I'll take a look at a few webcams.
Without having access to the inside knowledge that you have, I would look at that webcam and think that it doesn't look very impressive.
If you have an old banger for sale you don't post a photograph on ebay showing all the rust on the subframe. So if you have a ski resort ...

If you have an old banger for sale you don't post a photograph on ebay showing all the rust on the subframe. So if you have a ski resort that is awesome why not show some awesome pictures? My point is that that webcam shot is not doing any favours to the place.
To say 'shows what little you know about the resort' is just plain rude.
Trouble is, as has been seen in the past on this site, some people are so defensive that they can't take the objective view of outsiders, which is what potential holidaymakers are.
Even an unbiased punter such as Monty, who has taken the trouble to come back to this site and explain his decision, is pooh-poohed as a fool. Like that's going to really encourage him to come and spend money with you guys and your businesses.
I'm not trying to stir up trouble or wind people up, I'm just saying how things appear to the casual observer.
I imagine you like people to be polite on this forum, so please don't come back with retorts such as 'more fool you' or 'shows what little you know' ... (Make sense so far?)
Actually, the more cancellations there are for Bulgaria, the sooner the stupid Bulgarians running the resorts will wake up to commercial reality and the way free markets operate. Hit their pocket, I say - it is the best way to make them realise they need to improve their services. If everyone went elsewhere this year, they will be down on their knees next year, begging us to go back there. If everyone went elsewhere this year, they will be down on their knees next year, begging us to go back there. From that point of view, the Bulgarian "lovers" who are always ready to jump in defence of their beloved Pamporovo, Bansko or Borovetc have actually been causing quite a lot of harm to the rest of us :-(
