Staying here 1st of March. Have read some really bad reviews.

re: Samokov Hotel??

General reports that it is clean and warm, and the food is served cold! So the same as everywhere else really.

I find that it is a big hotel with little local character, but that appeals to some. The rooms I have seen were clean and spacious, so don't worry.

With all us for company you'll have a great time xx Very Happy

re: Samokov Hotel??

Just had a week in the Samokov. I found it a nice place to stay. Not 4 stars but safely a 3 I'd say. Clean, warm and always loads of hot water for a nice bath after a day on the slopes.

Let me know if you have any questions...I'd be happy to answer them.

re: Samokov Hotel??

We booked through Thomsons and used the Samokov ski school and hire. We didn't use the ski school as we didn't need to, but the hire service was very good. Only a 15 minute wait on the first day to get your stuff.

re: Samokov Hotel??

You take the skis and boots back to the depot at the end of the day instead of having your own locker. This was ok, but a bit of a pain if there was a queue in the morning. Although, I only ever queued 5 minutes, tops. Try to avoid ski school meeting times as it got busier then. That's also good advice for the gondola! Very Happy

Debbie

I’ve stayed in the Samokov for the past two years and would recommend it.

The rooms are warm and big enough.

The hotel has all of the facilities that you need, and the food is as good as any of the Hotel food I’ve tried in the resort.

The Hotel has a very good location, in the heart of town and just over the road from the Gondola.

I’ve posted pictures from previous years at http://www.closingtime.co.uk/ if you want to have a look. Any comments welcome.

The Ski depot is located in the Hotel basement and you can ski back to it if there’s enough snow!

I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
