Samokov verdict?

i'm off to Borovets this sat staying at the Samokov - has anyone got an opinion on this hotel?re: Samokov verdict?
very big hotel never stayed in it but very good position for all the slopes and bars ect have a good timere: Samokov verdict?

Stayed at Rila myself over Xmas but popped into Samokov to use their internet access. Looked fine to me - public areas warm clean and seemingly cared for. As BW says good location too.Sorry can't be more help.Maybe use search on this site for earlier postings from folk who have actually stayed there.

neil, I stayed at the samakov 2 years ago, not much to report differently to the brochures: clean, good bars and plenty of
, must have a pancake if the pancake man is in the loby - a great start to unwind after a day falling over!. central to all bars, shops etc. good disco and the swimming pool was always warm. Food is ok, but, if you dont like the look of it you can always eat out as it is so cheap. Have a good one!!murdo

My daghter and I stayed there last week, we had no problems with the hotel at all. the rooms were cleaned daily, the swimming pool was warm ish and the food was edible... have a great time.PS The gondola is 2 minutes walk away and the 4 man chair lift is 5 mins away...enjoy

Yes generally friendly, but most staff cant speak a word of english beyond doing their general job. If you find your self in reception at 3 am needing urgent medical assistance, as I did, after being beaten up in the night club below, then they wont know what an earth to do and wont understand you. Regardless weather your passing out and covered in blood.
As for the rooms, lock them, even when your in them, I was the only one in my room late one afternoon taking a bath, whilst someone ...

The resident hotel prosititutes are a pain and obvously they are drug pushing at the same time, stay well away.
