I have just read a couple rather alarming reviews of Borovets, they go on about how seady borovets is, We booked this place because it's is suppose to be a family resort, could someone please either put my mind at rest, or tell me straight so I may have enough time to book something else.Thanks

Its not at all seedy. Been there twice with young son and going again on 3/2 with 12 year old daughter. Sure that seediness can be found the same as anywhere else but I have not seen a lot of it. It is a good family resort, Don't worry and don't even thing of changing.re: Seady Borovets !
It cant help be found as there are 13 lap dancing venues with neon signage dotted all around the wee village. As for it being in your face, there are prostitutes frequenting all the main hotels and bars but I dont imagine they would offer you tricks if you were sitting with your wife and kids. The guys in our group went most nights and according to them services are available in the lap dancing places and you can take girls back to your hotel. Granted for a wee place there are alot of ...

Dont worry Mate. It is totally a family resort which caters for all genres.
Yes there is ladies of the night but believe me you wont notice them. Its the same here if you go looking for it you can find it, if you dont you wont find it. Its a lovely place and im sure you family will have a fantastic time. Take no notice of negative comments. People only go out of there way to write negative comments never positive and there in the minority in my opinion. If your a stuck up snob ...

We went to Borovets as a family over Christmas. We thought the village was lovely and not at all seedy. My 17 year old son spotted a couple of interesting neon-lit establishments, but it is definitely not overt. Absolutely no sign of ladies of the night, either that or we were all wearing blinkers. Don't cancel, we had a fantastic holiday and would recommend it wholeheartedly!

I was in Boro over Christmas with 4 Kids between 8 and 14, the kids were out on the slopes bum boarding in the evening on their own and we had no problem what so ever with prostitutes also had no problem in the Rila. Yes if you go looking you will find them but thats the same in any town/city in world.Will

Borovets Kev is absolutely right !!We were there over the New Year and had 9 kids in our group ranging from 19 to 10 yrs old. The older ones were out very night and were never propositioned, and the nights that us oldies went out we never saw anything - cause we weren't looking !!

There are many "lap dancing" clubs and they don't mind handing flyers out to your other half when you are with them as I found out!! But never saw any "ladies of the night" (got back Saturday). It's the small beggar boys that are really annoying - if you just shout "no" at them they do go away but if you just sort of shrug and walk off, they follow you....There is plenty for kiddies to do there though, so I really wouldn't worry.

Add, an honest opinion, be careful. You don't mention where you are staying, and this does have an impact on what you see.
Last year i stayed at the Edelweiss which is a 10 minute walk from the town centre and so it was away from the more undesirable elements of the town. However on that 10 minute walk you would walk past about 5 strip clubs on the way to the slopes and would be offered a good number of flyers.
The "ladies of the night" seem to be in 2 places, the strip clubs ...
