Shoes

This may sound daft but what sort of shoes should I wear when I am going skiing, I know I get ski boots but what should I have on underneath them? Do I wear trainers or what?

re: Shoes

be sure to get yourself some long socks, the tops of all boots can chaffe a little. whoever told you to wear trainers might have been giving advice regarding shoes to wear when just walking about the resort. if not, give 'em a slap.

re: Shoes

As a first timer I would recommend you buy some SKI socks. These have extra padding on the shin, heel and top of the foot as these are the areas most susceptable to chaffing and blisters. Unfortunately they are not cheap and range from £5 up to over £15 so shop around. Don't confuse them with trekking or walking socks or ski tubes as these as not the same. Remember you will be wearing these socks for probably 6 hours and your feet will get sweaty and with the wrong socks maybe even cold.

re: Shoes

Well thankyou for all the advice, I know to ask people on here and not listen to a snotty 16 year old shop assistant in future!
