Any tips on what to look for in a good ski jacket? I'm not bothered whether or not it carrys a designer label but don't mind paying a reasonable amount for a good one.Can you pick good quality jackets up cheap in Bansko?

you can pick up good quality jackets in Bansko, the only thing I would say other than it being warm is to make sure it has enough pockets for camera - phone - etc....re: Ski Jacket
underarm vents, windproof, snow skirt, hood, breathable, taped seams, waterproof, pass holder/pass holder pocket and as above says, plenty of pockets..if its got all them, you can`t go wrong, no matter if it says gucci or lidl on it....
Mines got all them, its an Alpine ski jacket and it only cost me about 80 quid brand new last year...

HiThe Alpine brand is stocked exclucivly by Blacks. And there now on sale. I know this because I work for Blacks.

although there is a lot of snide gear in Bansko, Spyder, Killi etc, the local Bulgarian Manufacturer is DIEL, top class with all the Technical requirements, plus all the lift pass. key holder, snow skirt, phone holder stuff they now put in Jackets.
i bought a Diel Jacket and Salopettes for £150.00 which i assure you are top class and look the Dogs etc, Lady Langers had a £550.00 outfit this year from Snow & Rock and was ever so slightly p***** off after my purchase.

Proper Sports Shops sell the real McCoy, the shops full of Jackets in the Widows sell the Snides. Have to admit they look the part and workmanship is excellent, but styles and Colours are a few years old and they have not yet been tested by our groups Buyers after two Years of Great weather whilst in Bansko but no heavy snow storms etc.
Snides were £50.00 for a jacket this year, £10.00 cheaper than last year.

That is correct I got my jacket from blacks last year in the sale, it was reducred from something like £120.00 to about 80 quid. I went into blacks again this year, but they said that they were no longer stocking as much ski wear...not sure whyre: Ski Jacket

chris you want to ask garry if hes got some 30% off vouchers as well as the sale, the staff at blacks have had a pile of them would save you even more
