Ski School in Pamporovo

Hi
I'm heading out to Pamporovo on 28th Feb- 1st time in Bulgaria but 2nd time skiing (although was 9 years ago!!)

Have booked through Crystal and just wondered if anyone has been to ski school through them and what they thought of it (and if they use a specific ski school?).

I've booked intermediate package (as hoping everything will come back to me and I'll remember the basics) and my hubby is in Beginners as never been before.

Hoping he progresses quickly so that we can ski ...

I've booked intermediate package (as hoping everything will come back to me and I'll remember the basics) and my hubby is in Beginners as never been before.

Hoping he progresses quickly so that we can ski together after a few days and don't end up spending most days in our separate groups!

Crystal use the main ski school which is fine as lond as ur not a beginner. the beginner groups can be 2 big, however 28th feb should be quiet so hope the groups might be smaller

Ski school normally very good. If are not happy with your groups, please let someone know and they will sort it instead of complaining in silence.
We too are going 28.2 from Manchester, 11 of us, some first timers, some 2nd timers and some who go every year, including a 9yr old who thinks he's Bodie Miller!
Where you staying?

Crystal are really good, went with them last year, and France at New Year, and they keep in touch everyday, after skiing usually, to check everything is going well.
The ski wardrobe is downstairs of the main building, and equipment on the whole seems ok. We went with Balkan and they had you queuing on the stairs for an hour, and last time completely left us to sort ourselves out, but Crystal have got their act together.

Pamorovo Ski school is as good as it gets. You will travel fairly widely around Europe to get better. Have a great time!

Thanks to all for info.

Jo

We're going from Manchester too. You flying to Plodiv?

There are 4 of us going with only my hubby having never skiied before. Our friends have skied a number of times before (and went to Pamps two years ago) so they've not booked to go to ski school and are just planning to do their own thing.

Staying at Orlovetz Hotel which I believe is relatively central. Where are you staying?

Yes, Pamporovo Ski School is good - any problems, see the senior instructor Maria, she'll sort you out.

Yeah we are landing in Plovdiv and staying at Perelik. It is across road from Orlovetz, and I think it has an underground tunnel which comes out in the Perelik.

I'd bet my savings you soon realise who we are once on the plane. We aren't the quietest group. 6 adults in 40's, 2 x 14yrs, 2 x 12yrs and a 9yr old who is a Jack the lad(also his name).

We all in our mid- 30's - No kids with us - we're leaving them at home with grandparents. (My daughter is under 2 so too young to ski and my stepson lives with his mum & we decided not to take him this time - maybe next year?) - so looking forward to really letting our hair down and having a great week of ski-ing. Lets hope the recent snowfall continues!!!!

Will look out for you on flight!

Have a great time
