Ski Wax

the skis I was given in pamps last year were in a pretty poor state, and didn't run very smoothly, in fact i could see a difference between both skis. When I enquired about waxing (skis not bikini line lol) the bloke at the ski school just gave me a blank look.

I was wondering if it was worth taking a block of wax with me in case this happened again, as I noticed others had brought their own. Can anyone recommend a cheap, all purpose, rub on block of wax? Obviously i don't want to pay ...

re: Ski Wax

I usually take some liquid wax...easy to apply. Just smooth it on, leave it for 10 mins until dry and buff to a shine with a cloth. It helps maintain our skis over a 2 week period.

re: Ski Wax

It cost 5 lev in the ski rental place in Pamps,Same in Boro,if in doubt ask a ski instructor and they'll point you in the right direction, they iron on the hot wax...

I always take hire ski's to be waxed and edged on the first day, thats if they need it..

re: Ski Wax

Honestly, cold wax is a waste of time. If you get badly waxed/unwaxed skis you're probably at the wrong rental place. If you can't get around this for any reason I would recommend that you just take the skis to be waxed yourself - it'll cost you 20 leva but then at least you'll have good skis for the week

re: Ski Wax

I would agree with the above comment. To invest £8 extrat would improve your skis so much. I have my own wax and service my own board whilst out there each year. I also use a liquid teflon which aids glide too. Catch me if you can Wink

re: Ski Wax

Just checked with Summits who supply this stuff and they no longer have it. They have changed to Magic potion which is even more expensive for the same amount Mad

re: Ski Wax

Yep, liquid teflon, or wax is the answer. You only need proper waxing services to fill in major burnishes. For a daily treatment that is pocket sized take the liquid treatment.
