Thanks Gill
I might do like you said & buy out there unless theres a really good deal before I go. I will be ok for luggage allwce on the way back cos I'll be with the boys & we can mix up the luggage etc & make it under the 60kg for the 3 of us.
I suppose at least if I get them while I'm there I can make sure they're ok cos I'll be on them every day.
no my feet are digusting anyway, I had to go to snow and rock to ensure I got them fitted in england and they understood everything I needed - they still kill, but that's another story and not snow and rocks fault....
the boots sales normally do not begin until after the ski season, although I think decathlon have some good deals at the mo... if I bought again I possibly would buy over there as know what kind of fit I need now... and they do a good make over there called atomic, I ...

also if you can get someone in pamps who is bulgarian but speaks good english to go with you that will help, and you can probably do a deal that if they get you discount you will offer them a bung the ski shops tend to offer the ski instructors good deals and they would not mind helping if it meant a little money in it for them...
You will find by March the shops in pamps will already be having their sales ready to close for the season so even without discount should get a nice deal.
i got boots in bansko two years ago in march cost me about £65 same boots in the uk were £185 so got a bargin was in the sales at end of season though.
Looks like I'll go & see shops here n have a try then poss buy while I'm in Pamps - I'll try n take my instructor (or one of the previous ones) with me if I can to ensure i get a good deal.
Thanks muchly Smigger for tipping me off about Decathlon - I've been today & got some salomon boots for £59.00 - I'm well chuffed.
Unfortunately my son also found some that fit him so it cost me another £59.00 but at least it was better than bogof cos we got 2 boots & 1 boot bag (sons using his backpack) for less than £130.00. Bargain even if I do say so myself.
Looks like I'll be spending some time in them over the next week or so before I go to Xscape to try them out on the slope ...

wear them round the house for a few hours first to ensure they do not hurt, you can still take them back then if they do before you use them for real....
I thought your son would be doing all the ironing for you after buying him a pair of new ski boots I am sure if you suggest it to him he would be more than happy to pick the iron up... you may have to show him how to use it though
