Ski conditions in Borovets

Hi all,
Just a small report from yesterdays skiing in Borovets.
Met up with a few friends who also post here on the forum at the gondola and shot up to the top. Skiied down to mid station of the gondola. Also skiied Markujik 1 and 2 up top.
The snow cover is awsome with deep off piste skiing everywhere. Not many people on the slopes considering the resort was full and lift ques were non existant....
The exit at the top of the gondola has been revamped and they have created a walkway ...

The exit at the top of the gondola has been revamped and they have created a walkway around to the left as you exit the gondola.....a much better and safer idea.
Above all, a perfect day on the slopes and with more snow for this coming week, it's looking very good for all who are coming over for the xmas week!
Happy skiing!

It was good to see the Stairs of Death replaced with ..... another set of Stairs of Death. Would have been nice of them to reduce the ticket price given that half the slopes were out of bounds mind you.

Know what you mean Mat. No Yastrebets runs which was a real bummer. Must be saving it for the tourists Wink
It was a good day skiing all the same and my legs are killing me! Very Happy

Mine too, a pleasant agony. I see the Yastrebets will be a seperate ticket if you want this year - good idea to carve it off as its own 'mini resort' as you can drive all the way there, use the best runs on the mountain with the newest lift and avoid everyone else. Just go over the top when there's a powder day.

Mat,
You have always been able to purchase a lift pass for Yastrebets seperate....for 20lv for the day.
The focus is for the Bulgarians mainly. And it's not very often they close the chailift due to high winds. Just remember....Maintanence falls on a Tuesday! for a couple of hrs in the morning.

re: Ski conditions in Borovets

Do you mean that you will need a seperate ticket for the Yastrebets runs that isn't covered by the standard lift pass?

re: Ski conditions in Borovets

No, you can buy a day pass for the whole mountain which includes Yastrebets. But you can buy a lift pass for Yastrebets only which gives you 3 really good runs.

Had me worried, untill tim asked his question.

The lift pass is pretty reasonable i think,i payed £134 for a wks pass in andorra. The pass in boro is the cheapest that i have come across so far.

re: Ski conditions in Borovets

I saw a sign on Saturday saying maintenance every Monday morning for a couple of hours and the last Monday of the month the whole day - this of course may well not be reflected in reality!!
