Ski packs

Does anyone know if the equipment from the Rila is of a good standard.

It seems cheap to get pass, skis, boots and lessons for 159euros for 6 days

I have seen other prices upto £230.

What is the typical price for decent equipment. We are party of 2 skiers and one boarder.

re: Ski packs

That looks a good price. I was in Borovets for New Year and booked through Hunters and although we didn't do much skiing (lack of snow!), the equipment was very good. I think we paid about £200 but hopefully getting some back from our insurance. The instructors were also very good and if I go back, would definitely use the company again.

re: Ski packs

I have booked the deal for 159 euros, I am in Borovets on the 16th Jan. Will update on kit quality and pass coverage on the 17th. I paid by Credit Card so if I am not happy will be complaining and trying for a refund. Will keep you posted. Dan Very Happy

re: Ski packs

billy - by both sidesof the mountain do you mean the rila side and the gondola side? Either way, the whole of Borovets is covered by the same lift pass, so no problem with it not being covered

re: Ski packs

Thanks Dan

That would be much appreciated.

Did you book through Skiholidaysextra or on some other site. If so let me know so i can check it out.

Did you receive a voucher as I am gonna try and leave it as late as possible cos of the snow?

We are only beginners so I hope that we will be OK.

re: Ski packs

Cheers Dan.

Let me know what the gear is like.

We all fly out on 30th Jan. How long does the voucher take to come through?

I am sure I will have enough time.

Thanks again, just hoping for more snow.

Wink just remember you tend to get what you pay for!

re: Ski packs

Paul,
They email the voucher through, then you print it off. Mine took a day.
I know you get what you pay for, but I am on a tight budget.
I'll be the guinea pig for all. I learnt to ski on ancient Atomics from the early 90's that was in 2003. As long as they are not as bad as them then I am happy.
I will provide an update and detailed kit review mid week.
Cheers. Dan. Very Happy
