I've been in Pamps for the last few days. It was great to see the snow cannons being tested and the piste preparation. Flood lights now right from the top of the red above the wall so night skiing all the way from the tower!

I took a 4x4 tour to the top of the Perelik and also drove up the piste from Smolyan lakes and over the top by the tower, down to the top of the wall and then down the runs past the Grand Monastery to Studentz. It was the first time I've been there without snow and was very impressed with the beautiful scenery and views. Can recommend the 4x4 tours and perhaps next time I'll do it on horse back?
I never previously thought I would seriously consider it as a summer destination but I would now - maybe a 2 centre holiday with a week by the black sea (or a week in Greece)
we always do a week in Bansko in the summer & then nip off to Greece...either the island of Thassos or a lovely little beach resort outside of Thessaloniki....
Hi Pippa, hubby and I did exactly the same trip last year. Pamporovo looks beautiful in the winter covered in snow but I love the amazing scenery of the mountains in Pamporovo in the summer. It is something to be seen.
I can also now say I have been on the black, reds, blues and green runs, albeit in a 4x4 lol.
I was most disappointed that we were not able to drive down the wall! Apparently it is too steep!! We did have a slight worry when we were wheel spinning and sliding backwards toward the drop off but we lived to tell the tale....
