Skiing solo

Hi,

I really want to go skiing in Jan 09, but am struggling to convince any of my mates to join me!! (Not that they don't like me, they're just all married up or skint!!)

Is Borovets the sort of place you could go to on your own and still have a good time? Will be doing ski school everyday, but what about on an evening?

re: Skiing solo

Hi, im thinking of going on my own this coming season for similar reasons. Ive been to borovets 3 times before (as part of a group)and would say as long as you are prepared to meet people you will have an excellent time, if you get in a cool ski school group you will find you spend time with them on an evening aswell as during the day, everyone is really friendly, so definetly go for it on your own.

re: Skiing solo

Gang of us will be there jan 17th for a week just call in to christos but if you are in ski school you will most likely make freinds with the people you are with. We often end up in quite a large gang just by meeting different people.

re: Skiing solo

Great thanks guys. Think I will go for it!! I'm very surprised that the single supplement is only about £50, on other types of holidays it is much more!!

Will get back on here once I've booked it, see who's going to be there at the same time!!

Skiing solo: Forgot to ask

Is it cheaper to buy ski passes and hire equipment there or do it through the travel agent before you go?

In general Travel agent is by far the cheapest..

As dbut says there are a few off this forum going on the 17th so your more than welcome to come and join the gang..
