Am off to Borovets on 22 (yippee, cant wait), and booked for a Learn to Ski package. Wondered if its possible to swap skis for board just for a day/afternoon, just so I can have a go at "The Dark Side"
I suppose it depends on where you get your gear from, but if you can you wont do much in a day or an afternoon, I only ride a board I think you may be better off taking one and sticking with it, its harder to get your balance on a board than ski's
so you may not like it, until you can do one leave the other for a while,
Cheers for your advice........... Am happy-ish on a skateboard, so just tempted to try the snow variety. Am going as a group who all wanted to try skis so outnumbered!
I've been skiing since I was 9 (now33) raced and instructed. My other half had never skied or snowboarded but has a bit of a skater chick in her younger days so she took up snowboarding. I hung up the skis and bought a board so we had a joint hobby. Although boarding is a bit tuff for the first couple of days, it's got a much quicker learning curve so by the end of a good week you should be at a pretty good level as apposed to skis it can take years to get to a good level ...
Gidday Patman,

It may be the dark side but the light at the end is a lot closer!!
Have been boarding for 7 years now and would agree with Noodles, you're not gonna learn much in an afternoon so would probably stick to skiing until you've got the hang of it. I taught myself how to ski 3 years ago and tend to just have one day on them during my holiday but would definitely wait until you're a little better at skiing, although boarding rules!!!
