Based on previous posts, you are on about Borovets, I think?
I didn't post today as in bed with flu but Bobby has just come home and said, it's not great! The same runs are open, but today Rila slopes were pure ice - this was due to the temps raising yesterday and cooling over night, which ended up with the 'ice' situation!

Hi Benn,
Based on previous posts, you are on about Borovets, I think?
I didn't post today as in bed with flu but Bobby has just come home and said, it's not great! The same runs are open, but today Rila slopes were pure ice - this was due to the temps raising yesterday and cooling over night, which ended up with the 'ice' situation!
I did read a review from Daniel that it was 14degrees yesterday, but it wasn't that hot. Basically the temp guage on the Rila is in direct sunlight and is glass, so gives a different temperature than the resort. I drove up to get Bobby yesterday at 2pm and it was 6degrees - we left at 4pm and the temp had dropped down to 4 degrees.
Yastrebets was very busy again today, but still skiing well.
I think they will struggle to keep the Sitnyakovo and the Suhar open for much longer as they are already patchy and there are no snow cannons on there in case the temps do drop...Yastrebets will be fine even if the cannons can't go on.
I will update you tomorrow although not sure if you want to hear about it....!!
thanks for the update kas. i check here daily for them or i will up till next friday lol. weather reports show show on wednesday uptill 2/3 cm throughout the day with temps dropping towards the weekend =) aslong as i can get on one slope ill be happy ha
I really hope for everyone that the snow does come but to open up Markudjiks / the rest of the runs, we need a good 20cm at least.... One of the big problems, is that snow on the Markudjik runs lasts longer as it is colder up there, but there are no snow-cannons - if there were they would be on nearly every night (at least). The Rila slopes are obviously at resort level, so the temps are higher, so although they have cannons, less chance to use them becuase of higher temps....
Snow is forecast from the 15th onwards through to 24th,( forecast doesn\'t go beyond there at the moment) however these forecasts keep changing so its a case of wait and see.. im there on the 22nd so fingers crossed that the forecast is right..
Just out of curiosity, where did you get the forecast about the snow from fhe 15th-24th of Jan?
I am set out to fly on the 16th from manchester and I'm frantically checking here and the weather sites (I know they aren't wholly reliable!) Every half hour or so.
Iv check netweather.tv, snow-forecast.cim, onthesnow.com? Bbc weather and also the met office?
I use netweather...

Yesterday it forecast light snow from 15th then heavy snow for the 22nd and today it has changed to light, so as I said before it keeps changing.
I'm just hoping we have a decent drop in the next week.
Any idea about Pamporovo? I am going out on the 29th Jan, I have been searching also, but have had no joy. Looks and sounds like it is getting icy!!................thanks.
