Boro in early March would probably require two, but late March you'd probably get away with one. Or at least one one one foot and maybe two on the other...............
dont talk crap, 2 pairs of socks add to friction which could lead to blisters, and if it is cold will just make your feet colder when the added pressure of the extra pair of sock in your boots will restrict blood flow and cause you more problems. Buy 2 pairs of quality socks wear one wash one its simple and cheaper than wearing ski tubes. if you feel you must wear two try silk socks sb
I tried wearing 2 pairs for one of my lessons but it didn't feel right and my feet were still cold. I've got 2 pairs of long tube socks so will just wear one as you suggest.
Off to the dry ski slope tomorrow,.... don't look like it's gonna be very dry looking at the weather forcast. It'll be my first try on snow.
Roy - I tried a dry slope years ago and I found it really difficult. Had some lessons at Xcape - much easier on 'real' snow - and mastered the basics. However, nothing compared to the real thing - you've so much more space and the snow is tons better. So don't be disheartened if you find it difficult - it'll be way better when you get out there
your feet need room to move in order to make them warm, also you need a coushion of air in there, this will warm up and insulate your feet, just like doudle glase windows do. buy the correct socks as they will be thinner and cant hold much water, this is so the boot liners can take it away from the foot as designed,
how to understand all this, well your in a nice warm house your hands are warm, now put your hand on a wall that leads to the outside, its cold and it will get colder, the same ...

how to understand all this, well your in a nice warm house your hands are warm, now put your hand on a wall that leads to the outside, its cold and it will get colder, the same thing happens in a boot, so give feet room or the snow will draw the heat away. i can go on a bit can't i
depends on the boot fit, if it is a good fit then one pair, I was advised to just wear normal cotton socks or even pop socks if the fit is good.
The only reason to wear two pair would be if the boots do not fit good, you can always change the boots after the first day.
buy good socks, they do make a difference, and try to stick to cotton also put talc on your feet if your feet sweat a lot it will help stop your feet rubbing in your boots
