this has happened to me twice over the years it means a long wait at burgas as the coaches are at sofia 4 hours away it usualy means you will be in your hotel 9 to 10 hours later than was planned ... .. .. as a rule the bulgarian pilots will land in fog as they are at home however the british pilots will need to land and take off and it is not possible to take off in fog .. be prepared with food and warm clothes ....
Oh i hope the weather wil change, cause I land in Sofia on Thursday, and I dont have a transport waiting for me. :-(
Gonna go with a domestic bus company up to Pamps from Sofia, but I dont have a clue how to get from Bourgas to Pamps.
Oh this is typical my luck. :-)
yeah I know, but I when does it leave Bourgas? hmmmm
If we cant land in Sofia, I will land in Bourgas around 16.00 and that mean I will be at the train station around 17.00.
But I still belive/hope the airport in Sofia will open again before thursday. :-)

Avalanche - there is no minimum visibility for IFR (commercial) departures however it will be the absolute minima for the approach that prevents aircraft descending below 1000' above aerodeome level - therefore not landing (no matter whether it is British, Bulgarian or even Botswanian aircrew)
Troll, looking at airport site today, things are looking a lot better at Sofia. Your flight for tomorrow does not show yet, but if you log onto the following site later, you will get an update. www.sofia-airport.bg. click the little flag in right hand corner for English version. Cheers. F.V.
