Sterling Crashing against the Euro

€1 = £0.8927
IR£1 = £1.1335

Sterling taking an absolute battering against the euro. Some ecomomists and financal observers feel that by year the Pound and the Euro will be trading on a par.

Buy your euros now if you havent already. If you save 10% that £50 saving if the average traveller (not Gypsy) takes £500 with them for a weeks skiing.

I'm exchanging 16 lev notes for £4. That works out at 4 lev to the pound if there's any takers?

re: Sterling Crashing against the Euro

I went to the PO today and spent £200 on 210 euros.

A friend came back from skiing in France last week and he said the euro was at 99p there.

What I have heard is that it will drop further and then pick up in the New Year, maybe up to 1.25/1.30. I certainly hope so, as I have a bill of around 800 euros to pay in February. And to think I could have booked with Balkan and probably paid less than doing it independently!

re: Sterling Crashing against the Euro

Theres not a chance in hell that the pound will recover to the levels you quote in 2 months IMHO. The euro will strenghten further against the pound unfortunatley where it will remain for quite some time.

re: Sterling Crashing against the Euro

i think your right...the £ will recover eventually but cant see it happening in jan....the euro zone are a few months behind us but they will feel the pinch...a strong euro is no good manufacturing etc...
