Great hotel, my favourite! Best location of any hotel in Bansko, right on the edge of the old town, next to the skating rink, and only a 5 minute walk to the gondola.
Big swimming pool, watch out for the slippery surface around the edge. Couple of sauna's and steam rooms, great at the end of a tiring day. 10 pin bowling alley, cash point, pool table and table tennis. Typical Bulgaria, everything's a bit faded and dour. Yep, just come back from Bansko and the Strazhite. Great hotel in my opinion, excellent location, excellent facilities - steam room, sauna after a ski session to relax, pretty much as Tomski mentions above. Also have the lovely Anna on reception Wink

I wouldnt stay anywhere else. Suppose Tomski mentions all the food being lukwarm is because brekkie and evening meal are buffets, get to the evening meal @ 6 and have a full choice of everything Very Happy

We liked staying there too. I agree the location is ideal! There are no safes in the rooms but you can hire a locker in reception for your belongings. That's always one of the things I need to know.

Have fun!

Pretty good hotel. I remember sitting in the reception area lounge with my wife enjoying a couple beers after a hard day on the slopes when I noticed this seriously gorgeous looking woman staring at me and smiling at me for no apparent reason. Now, as with most red blooded men, I just put it down to my seriously good looks and thought nothing of it. Besides, I was with my wife!!

Anyway, we were nearly finished our drinks and were getting ready to head off out for dinner in the old town ...

Anyway, we were nearly finished our drinks and were getting ready to head off out for dinner in the old town when all of a sudden this beauty walked over to us and asked if we would like some company for the night to which we said thanks but no thanks in our typically British manner. Our admirer then proceeded to say that she is very accomodating and doesn't mind a mixed threesome!! Razz

Oh, how we laughed and ran!

Very Happy

I'm heading out to Bnsko on Sunday and staying at the Strazhite for the third year. We really like the hotel for it's position in town. We've considered other but always seem to come back to the Strazhite.
There is also free wifi in the lobby if you want to stay connected.

The boot room is also fair size and make a great side exit to the hotel.
Watch out for the tree stump on the way up to the Gondola, its been there ever since I've been going to BG and I expect it will still be there when I'm feeding the worms!!!
