Strike update

I am due to fly to on Saturday by scheduled arirline from Gatwick. I have just phoned Balkan Holidays and Bulgaria Air regarding the rumours of striking pilots. The response was;
1. Balkan Holidays - They had not heard about the problem until I phoned. They are looking into it and will ring me back later. I will post the result of that conversation to the thread later on.
2. Bulgaria air - After a slight pause I was informed that there are indeed problems and there is a "slight" ...

2. Bulgaria air - After a slight pause I was informed that there are indeed problems and there is a "slight" chance that flights may be cancelled. Negotiations are ongoing and nobody is sure of the outcome or indeed when they may be concluded.
When asked what provision was being made in the event that flights would not be taking off they stated that they would do all they could but would not guarantee anything. I suspect they are making no provision to charter aircraft ifn case their aircraft are unable to fly. They will ring me later with an update.
I will post any furhter information here and anybody on the scheduled flights need to keep just about everything crossed for Saturday.

i have just spoken to balkan holidays they said it does not effect charter flights

As I posted elsewhere regarding this, Bulgaria Air is a scheduled operator, its only UK route is LGW to Sofia. Balkan Holidays Air (BHA) operate most of Balkan Tours flying programme, but if you are flying from Gatwick to Sofia AND you paid a supplement for a scheduled flight, as opposed to the BHA charter flight, then you may be effected by this strike. Best check your travel docs, but as I say, you need only be worried if you are flying from Gatwick to Sofiare: Strike update
HiSorry to sound dumb, but due to being busy at work and not having booked the holiday myself, I know only the following:
My flight is from Gatwick to Sofia, around 1:30
It is with a company called Ingrams, through Thomas Cook (if that makes sense)
Am I likely to be affected (and have I given enough info)?

PatqYour flight should be OK. The scheduled flight that may be affected departs Gatwick at 10.30

Unless Thomas cook sudenly change there name to Bulgari air you will be fine.re: Strike update
You are right DanielHowever, Just for stress sake - I rang Inghams to see if Thomas Cook Flights will be affected
They said no and they would post a note on their website if anything was going to affect us.
So hope that sets others minds at ease as well.
