Right, after the first day reported earlier, everything calmed down into a normal, fun-packed holiday. This is my account on the week from 24 - 31 Jan.
Snow was great. Started well, had a massive download which caused the power failure problems. But let's be honest, even that was fun at times with all the cheering going on in the dark and the various methods used to gain light. snowing with deep snow was quite tricky. Right, after the first day reported earlier, everything calmed down into a normal, fun-packed holiday. This is my account on the week from 24 - 31 Jan.
Snow was great. Started well, had a massive download which caused the power failure problems. But let's be honest, even that was fun at times with all the cheering going on in the dark and the various methods used to gain light. snowing with deep snow was quite tricky. Then we got a downpour of crispy snow and that made for different conditions again. If you want perfect snow every time, try a snowdome! Then of course there was the giant puddle at the near bottom of the green that our rugby lads took great delight in seeing who could fly through it with most damage!! Sorry to all those that they nearly wiped out, but there was no stopping the nutters.
Hotel Perelik, with the exception of my first day problems was fine by me. The 2 receptionists didn't smile all week (you know the ones!), but the others were helpful and friendly. The food, in my opinion, was faultless. Plenty of variety and always hottish.
Mountain food. As good as it alwys is. I must admit that I am a bit slack in bothering to work out how much things cost. I value my time better! But others in our group said that the prices in the BROTHERS restaurant had increased dramatically, although the restaurant opposite (we call ir renee's, but I foget the real name) had only increased slightly on last year.
White Hart and BJ's as busy as usual.
People; We were very honoured to meet Pamp Pete and Ange, the rest of his gang, Snowshack Steve and also Judith. Just in case anyone gets the wrong idea about Judith's earlier post regarding us having breakfast together.... ah, think what you want!! LOL
Pete, thanks for the invite to the barbecue and sorry I couldn't get the gals past a single shop without them stopping for a browse, making us late! I think we still got served before you? LOL By the way, it wasn't till we got home I found my three free vouchers you kindly gave me! D'oh!
On a similar subject...SNOWSHACK STEVE...I took a pound of dolly mixtures, a dozen cream eggs and five jellies. What happened to the vodka jelly evening?? I guess it was on the night I totally lost my voice (just had to be Karaoke evening) and didn't go out. Ah well, there is always next year!!
Oops, I nearly forgot NAN and her gang. That is, 43 children and 286 grandchildren if I remember correctly? Lovely group, great fun!
Then there were the failsworth 40. Only got introduced once, and it was all a bit much to take in who was who. But they were certainly heard, mainly wherever there was a microphone. I have to admit it was pretty good, though.
which brings me back to Pamp Pete. No nerves whatsoever. He even took the stage on a Bulgarian singing night and knew the words from start to finish. Bloody poser!! And boy do you need nerves to wear that outfit!! All explained now, but at the time I became fairly concerned!!!
Ok, unfortunately my pics were taken on my phone camera and there aren't that many and not great quality. But if anyone is at all interested, they are here....

On the subject of cream eggs dad had been to the cash and carrie and brought 48 cream eggs witch we were going to take for steve . what am i going to do?? dad says that i have to eat every one !! LOL and if i'm sick
he said he will rub my nose in it!!
