OMG - it just goes to show how bad things have got that you felt you had to shut up shop after 20 years. From what I can gather, the Tour Ops have cut much more drastically in places like Pamporovo than in somewhere like the French Alps. There they have maintained their presence because they will always get repeat bookings and lovers of the place.

Despite the extra expense, I guess Pamporovo just cannot
compete....and people from UK can drive there which
cuts down on the cost of the flights/transfers/car hire. I am really sorry. Pamporovo is a fantastic place to learn and relatively kind of the pocket.
I fear people who want to learn how to snowboard will now go elsewhere to learn and hone their skills.
I reckon I will be stuck with my chalet for years.....
Whilst I am very sorry to see the snowshack go - I have found the current residents of the same unit (The Ride Spot) to be great. Informative, friendly and their tuition and their English is fantastic.Their equipment is all brand new and prices are competitive. They are open to negotiations and keen to build up their business.
It might be the end of an era for Gary and the Snowshack but that doesn't necessary mean it is the end of snowboarding in Pamporovo!
Gutted to hear the snowshack is no more. It was gary who first taught me to snowboard back in 1995 and converted me to the darkside. I've never looked back. Pamporovo will not be the same without you guys
