The pound

The pound is now down to 2.35 Leva and that is the bank rate, so you wont always get that. I dont know how much lower will go, but it will make skiing dearer.Lets hope the price in leva does not rise as well.

re: The pound

How much worse can it get? The Euro is 1.14 today, I'm off to Portugal tomorrow that's gonna make my holiday a lot more expensive. Dollar is 1.48 today, a couple of months a go it was 2 dollars to the £.

re: The pound

With Bank of England base rates hinted at going as low as 2% or even 1% thats killing the £. The Lev is linked to the Euro (for now!) so any decrease in £ strength to the Euro = more costly Lev.

This will be the same for anywhere you go on holiday though.

Best rate is always with Nationwide Flex account card and no charges.

re: The pound

Rate at this very moment is 2.25 and falling. agreed Flexi Card is best, but you will get no better than the Banks Rates.

re: The pound

Anyone who thought Bansko was pricy/ more than they expected then following the £ moves recently its going to be a fair bit more - on the flip side it could force many people who'd go to the alps to Bansko instead due to a cheaper holiday. Money isnt limitless.

re: The pound

The Leva is linked with the Euro, so all the european resorts are getting dearer too, not sure about Switzerland, but i guess the pound is falling against the franc too ?
