Combine that with very chilly temperatures right down to resort level and you have a recipe for brilliant snow conditions. The below freezing temperatures look set to prevail throughout next week and into the next which will be great for consolidating the fresh snow. Once the piste grooming machines and snow cannons have done their business to the pistes, we should all be sliding on a fantastic snow base.
However, A WORD OF CAUTION, the winds look like they could be gusting at gale force for part of the time which will tend to blow away the fresh snow resulting in much less accumulations of snow falling on the ski runs than what would accumulate in "still air" conditions. Fingers crossed!
