re: Thinking of Bulgaria for skiing and would appreciate advice....
the one thing i would say, that as Borovets is much older than Bansko, the runs are less 'constructed' and on average are harder runs. The adage 'if you learn to ski in Borovets youll ski anywhere, does stand true, if you are used to 'motorway' skiing you might get a bit of a shock!!
re: Thinking of Bulgaria for skiing and would appreciate advice....
Though Borovets as a ski resort is 'older', thats only because it is a purpose built resort, there is no real town just hotels to serve the ski demand.
Bansko is centuries old with dozens and dozens of bars and restaurants with a mountain worth of skiing. The scope for off piste is enormous. I dont agree that its pisted runs are more constructed than Borovets. The whole area above the gondola at Borovets is very 'constructed'.

I also think that the runs at Bansko are far more challenging and are designed in such a way that even experienced skiiers could be tested.

myborovets,
you apologise above for being mistaken about your claims re Borovets, but on your website you repeat the claims saying its the biggest and most modern in Bulgaria. Thats really not true and you shouldnt do that.
I'm a bit suprised that this site allows you to advertise in the way you are doing (by use of name leading to website) particularily when the facts you are dispalying are incorrect and offer services as offered here.

Can I please clarify.
I was very tired yesterday when posting ... I have also edited the website copy (originally writte, not by me) two years ago.
I meant that with the Super Borovets Project (who knows if that'll ever get finished) it will be the largest. The Super Borovets project is one of the largest and most expensive investment and development projects in Bulgarian history.
I link out whenever it is necessary & enhances the post. Had the Bulgaria Ski webcams been working I'd ...

I link out whenever it is necessary & enhances the post. Had the Bulgaria Ski webcams been working I'd link to those, but they're not & since I presumed you all loved skiing & news of snow rather than coming on here to argue, I presumed you'd like news ... for example, that it was snowing.
re: Thinking of Bulgaria for skiing and would appreciate advice....
sorry matter of opinion, my opinion is that the runs in Boro (and i also feel theres loads more accesible off piste than Bansko) are harder than Bansko, but as i dsaid its a matter of opinion, for example compare the Tomba to the blacks in Boro!!

Fraser,
Appreciate its opinions mate, I've been to both and ours differ. Sometimes though an independant opinion carries more weight, not saying that in reference to you, but you do see some people post 'opinions' when they are actually adverts.
To continue our sharing of opinions, where was the World Cup held this year, and on which run?
