I'm due to fly out on feb 8th but I'm having serious doubts. The thought of going somewhere where hardly any of the mountain is skiable is making me anxious. I realise bulgaria is meant to be good value but parts of Italy and Andorra are and there getting heaps of snow. The problem is I made a late booking so I'm going to lose about £500 as they won't let me rearrange anything . I think my parents will think I'm mad but I think id rather take the hit of losing that money and paying for ...

The problem is I made a late booking so I'm going to lose about £500 as they won't let me rearrange anything . I think my parents will think I'm mad but I think id rather take the hit of losing that money and paying for an additional one, safe in the knowledge I'm going somewhere with plenty of snow where I won't have to cue ages for one lift. Would anyone else consider doing the same? Im travelling on my own .
Speak to travel agent again and explain about resort and you are prepared to pay admin fees to change. Arinsal are having good snow cover and still some cheap deals..
Even ask if you can change resort. Pamps snow cover looks good don't, be put off by the transfer time, should be easier to change than complete holiday as the flights will stay the same
Hope you get something sorted but try and do it tomorrow over the phone to tour operator reservation office.
Which resort are you going to? I'm booked to go to borovets on the 25th and am thinking of changing to pamps, was looking at changing to another country but st too much to loose. If you going to loose £500 you might as well go anyway rather than wasting it. Then save for somewhere else next year
What resort are you travelling to? Ive just returned from borovets and had a great weeks skiing. Yes the slopes are limited but Yastrabets was in great condition and night skiing was excellent on quiet freshly bashed Rila slopes. Very little cueing, bit busier on the weekend when the locals come up from Sofia. If your on your own (in Borovets) pay Bobbys bar a visit and speak to Kas, Bobby or any of the staff and if you need a buddy im sure they will introduce you to plenty of people you ...

I'm in borovets from 8th to 15th. Unfortunately the temperature is going to be 10degrees when I'm there every day, only one red slope is going to be open apparently due to that competition , and no new snow is forecast. Someone put a picture on twitter of the cue for yastrabets and it was massive. I'm worried that even the yastrabets that is open when I'm there will have deteriorated badly to much warmer temperatures. I've only been on two ski holidays so I'm not an expert on these things.
Like Popmop said you could try and pay some admin fees and change to Pamporovo. 100% open with good conditions now, even before the dump most runs were open due to cannon coverage.

I'll like to be able to change resorts but having booked everything through Balkan I would expect room and ski pack to have to be paid for again at another resort. I have found out through hunters it will cost around £55 all in for travel/lift pass/ski hire for a trip to bansko for a ...

What level of skier are you ?
I wouldnt bother to cancel the Yesterbets side of the resort is really good i had 7 fantastic days skiing the Yesterbets and if your more than capable you can get some good speed up and treat it a bit like the mens downhill, get yourself out there and make the most if what is available, and dont forget to get yourself into BJ'S bar for all day happy hour and ask for a free toffee vodka shot (well worth it)
I'd say I'm just about intermediate. I had lessons in mayrhofen and did a number of reds. The thing is no more snow is predicted and the temperatures are rising so conditions are only going to get worse. If there is only one red available to ski in the entire resort it's going to be packed. I was looking at arinsal but even there the temperatures are meant to be 17 degrees next week. Italy and Austria seem to have the best conditions now. I want to enjoy the après ski but skiing is the main ...

Unfortunately it's going to be a warm week all over Europe from next Saturday so if you want cold you're going to have to go 3000m and upwards. Most of that is going to be France and Switzerland which is bug bucks. Italy maybe your best bet. At least it won't be 10 euros for a 'demi' there. If you stick with Bulg I would see if you can change to Pamporovo, pretty much the whole resort is open and their piste management/cannons are arguably the best in Bulgaria these days so you'll have ...

Plus you can check out Chepelare which is a good day's skiing.
