Time Difference Advice

Had a slight problem with the time difference when we went to Pamps a few weeks back.

Basically, when we touched down the pilot told us Bulgaria was one hour ahead of the UK.

In actual fact, they are two hours ahead. And we only realised this by the rep on the coach on the way to the resort.

We flew Britannia - so for those of you flying tomorrow - make sure you double check with your rep when you get on the coach what time it is.

Hopefully just a one off - glad we were told - ...

re: Time Difference Advice

Easy way of getting the time right in Bulagria - Turn your watch upside down and adjust so that the hour hand faces towards 12. THEN ajdust the sminute hand so that this is just behind the hour hand pointing to 12. NEXT set the date to one day behind the current day (so if it Tuesday - adjust to Monday)...PHEW!! - FINALLY - pick up a dandelion and blow away the fuzz - counting the number of puffs as hours.
Sorted!

Absolutely no need for sarcasm! Was only trying to help future Pamps holidayers!

didn't find it funny then? - oh well maybe I'll stick to the office day job as my humour is destined to go down like a lead ballon.

Downbeat and disillusioned

I've had the holiday blues this week too. Got back from Pamps on Sat and now looking to book something for next year already!

Has Bansko got enough green/blue runs to keep semi-beginners busy for a week?

re: Time Difference Advice

went to Pamps last year - loved it - stayed in the Pamporovo hotel. We were semi-beginners when we went there and got the basics of parallel sorted the end of the week. Tried Bansko this year and it was excellent skiing - (apart from a couple of days when the lifts closed due to winds - but hey - could happen any time I guess). The slopes are a little more challenging than Pamps - there's only a couple of real 'blues' to practice on (including the ski road down to the resort). The piste map ...

The piste map does show 3 blues at the top of the mountain - but honestly these are definitely more like reds!! But if you're looking to take a step up in your improvement - I would certainly recommend Bansko - PLUS the town is great (little bit more to do than Pamps I found)
