Tip?

Looking for advice. What is the rule of thumb on tipping ski instructors? We have been in Boro since Sunday and have a private instructor for the family that we paid for in advance. He’s been great, really patient with us, looked after the kids, recommended restaurants, been really flexible with his time etc. We have him until Friday and want to make sure we recognise his efforts. Views?

re: Tip?

We all tipped our instructor 20Lev each.
But I suppose its down to the individual really!
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

re: Tip?

Surely you tip what ever it's worth to you, rather than the going rate.

re: Tip?

I think their wages are so poor that they would always appreciate a financial tip in preference to a gift or meal. I generally advise my clients 20 lev per person per week so if you feel that your instructor has exceeded the norm then perhaps in exess of that figure would be appropriate?

re: Tip?

I have not been this year but always used to tip £20 pp, however our instructor did far more than most, off piste, through trees and stayed till late, even to the point of hiring a bus to go out for a meal, we would have had to pay a fortune for that in Alps or US.

re: Tip?

We all gave 25 lev each, but there was 9 of us. Just give what you think is reasonable. Our instructor was excellent, (had him the year before too). Just give what you think and what you can afford.
