In reply to Daniel et al posts under the heading “Another bloody thread on orphanages / everything other than skiing !!!!!”, I would like to say that it has never been our intention to brow beat people into donating money to this particular cause. I fail to see that the “written” word in occasional posts can be interpreted as brow beating as it is your choice whether to read it or not.
We also believe that anyone and everyone who has donated have done so of their own volition with a good heart - no one has had their arms put up their backs and that during the period that we have been posting on the forum concerning the orphanage it I believe it represents a very small percentage of the overall posts.
Although I appreciate that this site is predominately a ski forum it was precisely that which prompted us to use the forum to get our message across. As the orphanage is located within (or very near) one of the major ski resorts in Bulgaria we felt that everyone would have a better understanding of the extreme temperatures that these kids had to suffer during the winter months. Therefore, I cannot and will not apologise for having used any possible medium I can to get the message across to aid our appeal.
But, I reiterate, if at any time we do post about the orphanage it is because there are people who are interested in hearing about how the fund is growing in order for to us achieve our goal of giving the kids better living conditions. Besides, during the time I have been visiting this site in all honesty I cannot say that I have noticed that this site has only been about skiing and nothing but skiing. Also at the time of launching the appeal fund it brought quite a bit of light hearted banter to this site that many people enjoyed reading about and commenting on.
Finally, you must have also noticed that we have also tried to keep the recent posts about the orphanage to a minimum. Suffice to say, once we have achieved our goal and informed every one of this, you have my promise that we will leave you and your "skiing forum" to your own devices.

I lost interest in this site this season just gone because of the constant orphange threads. I had hope they would stop now we are out of season, but you carry on.
For what it is worth..... your cause is very worthy and PP contribution was way beyond the call of duty. CAn we just leave it alone now for a while?

I'm sure these people are a small (and small minded) minority of readers on this forum. Please carry on the stirling work that you and the other have done over the past few months and I'm sure there are many out there who look forward to the day that the heating fund reaches its total, and we can enjoy our ski holidays without feeling guilty about the children freezing in the next valley. However, until it reaches its total, the fund raising must continue. Just because it is summer ...

However, until it reaches its total, the fund raising must continue. Just because it is summer and the temperatures are better doesn't mean the problem has gone away. Thank goodness there are some concientious people out there who don't just stick their heads in the sand and hope the problems go away.
Why stop posting just because a few cannot manage to use the up and down arrow keys to avoid reading the posts relating to the appeal? Read the topic? Don't read the topic? Its your choice after all.
re: To read or not to read, that is the question !!
As long as all threads reference the orphanage or any other good causes are headed up correctly i do not see why they should not be posted on the board as long as they relate to Bulgaria. People who do not wish to read them do not have to open the thread.Surely there is room for all on the board as long as clearly identified.

Missizippi,
Small minded? I'm sure that you don't know what you're talking about we all have our own faourite charities and causes which we support and don't want to be bombarded with others.
Yes, we can use choose not to read these threads but, that's not the problem.
The main issue is the fact that you cannot avoid this subject when non orphanage threads are continually hijacked.
In future, please get your facts straight before you lable others!
