I am going to Boverets on the 23rd Jan for my first attemt at skiing and I just wondered if I will be the odd one out as I am 55 and have never done this before.
Will everyone be much younger than me or is there a cross section of all ages that have a go or am I an old fool.
Richard to old?!! Behave yourself mate. I took my father in 2001 and he was just short of his 65th birthday!!!He had a great time he did find it a bit hard going at times and he was fit for his age as he had done a lot of mountaineering. When I first went skiing I met a fantastic couple in there mid 50's and have since been back twice with them. Relax dont expect to be zooming down the mountain like the kids just go at your own pace you will have a great time.
To echo Daniel I took my father in 2002, he loved it (he's 61). He's normally at home in The Highlands with a shotgun, wax jacket and a gun dog but the crowning moment was seeing him dancing to Eminem with a large vodka redbull in his hand!!! You will have a ball !!
No such thing as too old Richard as others have said. Was in the advanced group in Pamp last Feb and had a couple of 50 plus skiers in the group - bloody fitter than me....
You will love it - all ages, all abilities - everyone is there to have a laugh, you'll wish you tried it years ago.
