Transport from Sofia to Pamporovo

Hello Everyone,
Two of my nephews are flying into to Sofia on January 20th and are intending to stay in an apartment in Pamporovo. What's the best way to get from Sofia airport to Pamporovo and back? Is there a bus or train or will they need to hire a car and driver?
Any help would be gratefully received.

Taxi transfer try this site or do a goolge search. I am sure someone else will recomend a firm to you.

it will take you about 5 hours, but it will also save you 200 leva. Dont know what that is in euro or stirling. Im norwegian :-)
And you will see some nice villages on your way to Pamporovo too.

If they wont wait for the bus to Pamporovo, they can also take the bus to Smolian. In Smolian centrum is a lot of taxis, and they can drive them up to their hotel in Pamporovo. The taxi will cost them all in all not more then 10 leva, and the trip will take 10-15 min.

All buses from Sofia to Smolian, Zlatograd, etc. go via Pamporovo..there is no other road through the mountain.

Oh yes there is. Im going to Ustovo, and some of the buses dont stop in Pamporovo. After Chepelare where you turn right to get to Pamporovo, the bus go further up, and then turn right to get to Smolian. So we go around Pamporovo.
Anyway you will end up in Pamporovo.....bus.....taxi.....on ski.....you will find your way. :-)

Car hire is from 10 euros a day so worth a thought. Easy drive too 2 hrs 45 mins

Thanks everyone that's been very helpful. Aaron where can I hire a car for 10 euros the cheapest I've found is 18 euros!
