Well, yet again the various weather runs/forecasts have changed (as if that was a surprise!). It seems as though every new run brings with it a new set of variables. Now I could rattle on about why this happening in relation to the movement pattern of the various pressure systems(high and low) which is resulting in the constant changes to the daily forecasts, BUT, I will spare you the detail. All you really care about is WILL IT SNOW!

1) It appears that the precipitation due to fall on the 20th is almost certainly going to be rain due to the continued rise of temperatures. In fact, the 19,20 and 21st look be as mild as 10'C - not good!
2) Don't despair as tonights run is showing a considerable reduction in temperatures from about the 26th with VERY cold conditions from about the 27th Jan to the 2nd Feb (maybe longer but the models don't further ahead at this stage).
3) There is still the previously forecasted precipitation from about the 24th Jan to 2nd Feb and along with the considerable reduction in temperatures (as per point 2 above) this precipitation is almost certainly going to fall as snow. Any snow around the 25-29 January looks to have potential for being fairly decent dumps - not massive but more than a dusting.
Bottom line...well, things are still looking encouraging for fresh snowfalls from then end of next week and into the start of February.
I am still confident that I will be skiing on a good layer of fresh new snow the week I am in Bansko, from the 27th January.
You can assume the same forecast for Borovets and Pampororvo as they are more or less on the same lines of latitude and longitude. Pamporovo is slightly further out and at a lower altitude but all that that means is that if the temperatures and snowfall is falling above the Pamporovo mountain summits then the resort won't get as much snow as Bansko or Borovets which are both much higher than Pamporovo.
That varies quite a lot depending on the snow temperatures and air temperatures both during the day and at night as the lower the temperatures the more "intact" the snowpack will remain and vice versa no matter how thick or thin the snowpack.
Badly needs it . Spoke to friend in borovets at minute, whats there is melting. To compound the problems people are being bussed into borovets from other resorts.
