re: Very Quiet Today

Well, basically looking at the logistics and ultimately the economics of chartering a flight (via Monarch hopefully), obviously it will be dependant on the number of prospective clients but i feel the need is there, we also know the accomadation is there, it is just a case of getting punters out there and on to resort...
Most likely won`t happen this season but who knows, got to be worth looking into.

re: Very Quiet Today

The thing is when you book a package you get better deals on the lift pass and the ski hire. Then there is the cost of the transfer from the airport. Also not everyone will be prepared to go from the same airport even possibly???

From the punters point of view will it be cost effective???

re: Very Quiet Today

Appreciate what you are saying, regarding lift pass and equipment, that problem can be addressed and i have already discussed this with the operator and have had a provisional agreement if booked through a BG based company..
The departure airport would remain a problem, obviously Gatwick would be the initial choice to Sofia, although i have not got the absolute figures i envisage a cost of approximately £25,000 to charter an Airbus 320, do the maths, 320 passenger works out at £78.00 each, ...

Now then, i am likely to be in a dreamworld and the prices i have estimated are really wide of the mark but like i have said, it has to be worth looking at...

re: Very Quiet Today

If we accept your figures as correct what are you looking at for the accommodation side of things pricewise??

re: Very Quiet Today

If you were to consider a four person apartment (1 bedroom + lounge) the projected income in high season based on 10% return on investment, £50,000
apartment cost, £5000 per annum split over the winter season into thirteen weeks
would work out at £386.00 per week, that is £96.00 each for the week. This is top end and does not include the summer season, i would be more inclined to think that it will be in the region of £75.00 each based on full occupency...

re: Very Quiet Today

Interested in what you say Steve as always but from a personal point of view I don't think your proposal would suit us. All of our frends are couples who would want their privacy ie own bathroom. A 4 person apartment such as you describe may be OK for a couple with 2 children perhaps?

We have costed out the holiday for us as just under £1100 per couple including everything other than spending money. Have done a spreadsheet in fact with alternatives.

re: Very Quiet Today

See what you are saying, what i have shown as an example is of the top of my head and loosely based on available figures....

re: Very Quiet Today

Got to go darlin...
What i am proposing is the offer of apartment based holidaying in Bansko for around £200.00 per head, it has to be to compete with packaged hotel breaks.
No one will pay more to stay s/c when they can go to a hotel and benefit from all their facilities as well...
Most probably is a dream, we will see eh....
see ya later
