Depends. We went into Samokov last year, wandered around the town and went to a restaurant there - spoke Bulgarian to the shopkeepers etc.At the end of day though I will take my kids where I want when I want regardless of the schools wanting to keep their attendance stats up. So there ;-)

and let's not forget, when the schools run ski trips for students.. when do they do it? Half term? Think not

so long as it does not effect the schools curriculum and no one else suffers is the main point and they don't mind or want to fine you its is ok.

Well the schools that my kids go to tend to run their ski trips during half term...

Not when they are five they don't.
Let the kid go sking, both my granchildren went out of school last year and they are five and severn, not a problem unless they have had problems keeping up previously at school.
Anyway this thread is suposed to be about a little lad just starting out in the greatest outdoor pusuit known to man (except watching United ) not if he may have had a couple of days off school, as I see it he will have learnt loads of stuff that will be usefull in that week, ...

well that's your opinion which your entitled to, but I don't remember any rules at the start of the thread regarding what could and could not and what should and should not be commented upon on the thread and the opinions of others.re: Video of 5yr old son on Boro Blue

As you say there are no rules to say how a thread can develop, I just think the idea was to comment on the video!!

Quite right Tom, and what a cracking little vid, kids that age do seem to either love it or hate it, fair to say this was a young lad who loved it!!!. Well done Angus.
Jez, hope you have lots of money as he will probably want to ski a lot more.
Hibs, sorry to disagree with you but i personally am sick to death of the nanny state telling us whats good for us, our children and our health, I am sure Jez is able to judge whether 5 days off school wil destroy his childs future!!!!!!

Do you think I am wrong to take my kids out of school to go skiing?
