Jon, It would take over an hour I would imagine. Once you get out of the town there are no footpaths, and when there is snow on the road, it would not be an exageration to say you are risking your life. There are plenty of buses and if you do not fancy those, there are loads of taxis. If you get a taxi, make sure you barter and agree a price before you set off.
I have never stayed there myself, I stayed in the murgavets next door last season. There is a nice Italian there, nice gym and pool. It is right in the centre of the resort and close to bus pick-ups. There are tunnels/indoor walkways to alot of the bars in the resort from there, so if you have had enough of the white stuff during the day, you can avoid it at night.
At the end of the day, although you like to be comfortable in your room, you are there for the snow and the apres ski. If ...

taxi is the fun option...a Red letter day rally experiance here costs a lot more than the bulgarian winter rally team aka the taxi's in Pamp's or Boro..

centrally placed but if no transport to the slopes it is a walk on the side of a very busy road going towards the central bus stop it will take more that 30 min.
All in all stick to the hotels which are closer to the slopes (not many in Pamporovo though)
