re: Walkie Talkies 8 channels

Just back from boro. Used 15 channel walkie talkies. Was a bit of interference but they were ok for our needs. Just find channel not used to much. We met some people with sub channel radios which were great. Think these are bit more expensive. Ours cost just over a fiver a pair.

Just bite the bullet and buy the 14 mile range, they operate on 5mwatts which is the highest frequency you are aloud to use publicly, got a set of 2 on ebay for £40 inc postage from the states

re: Walkie Talkies 8 channels

Are the 14 mile range ones on the European frequency? I thought they were on the American frequency.

They Work fine in the UK, so assume they should be fine in Europe??

re: Walkie Talkies 8 channels

They work fine, but are they legal? I thought that the American ones used a different frequency to the European, which clashes with some privately leased frequencies including the police channel. Some people could legitimately get annoyed if you are using a frequency that they have paid good money to use exclusively.

re: Walkie Talkies 8 channels

I think this may be true of the GMRS frequecies, but i reckon you should be ok on the FRS frequencies - anyone gota difiniative answer?
