Walkie Talkies

A great way to keep in touch with your kids, or friends on the slopes, without it costing you a fortune in mobile phone calls.

We use them every year and they are well worth investing in. You can pick up a new pair on E-Bay for under £30

I would reccommend you go for 5 mile radius rather than 2 as this will give you a much better communication standard.

re: Walkie Talkies

good idea about the walkie talkies. cost me a fortune in Gran Canaria this year trying to find my girlfriend on the beach after sampling the refreshments at lunchtime.

Anybody know where I can get a street map of pamps on the net ?

Anybody know what happens to reactalite glasses under dark ski goggles ?

re: Walkie Talkies

I've used This guy twice. Excellent service both times.
Got six of the things to share between ten of us this year. PP is right, it saves a fortune in mobile phone bills.

re: Walkie Talkies

I looked on ebay and its £30 + postage

I bought a set of shock and water resistant 2 way radio's from Comet last week for £30. They take 3 rechargeable AAA batteries and come with a charger so no additional costs and it can be bought on the high street. Absolute bargain IMO.

Im now convincing my friends (4 others) to buy some sets as well otherwise we'll only have 2 radio's between 6 people! Neutral

Thanks eveyone.
Just got back from Comet. Bought 2 walkie talkies with rechargeable batteries, 5km range £29.95. Think that should do the job.

Hi Dave

Shame I did not see this before, but I have a spare set as not so many going this year. You could have borrowed them for the week.

re: Walkie Talkies

Gave them a test last night. Instructions recon about 3 mile usuable distance, but less in town. Hmmm only got 1 mile in town last night. Is this going to be any good in the mountains? Any comments....
