I think we have all got to start looking at ski holidays from september till january as the climate change seems to have changed the seasons. Borovets started getting snow as early as september. I think we have all got to start looking at ski holidays from september till january as the climate change seems to have changed the seasons. Borovets started getting snow as early as september. I was there 12th of jan and the weather was so mild, have been 5 times before and each year the weather seems to get a degree or 2 warmer so maybe we will have to ski earlier. Judging by the very poor snow last year and the ever melting snow this year unless we go to say Canada where they would be glad of early thaws, maybe most ski resorts in lower europe regions will have to have have earlier holidays or face the situation that there seems to be no snow.
I pray that the snow god gets the hump and dumps vasts amounts of snow on all europe and the uk for the next 10 years from Dec till May
There's not been a lot wrong with the snow this year. You'll still be able to ski in Boro come April and there's no way its going to melt. Stop worrying.
I been twice now and when it snows it really snows and then all is ok for about 3 days then heats up for a few then the snow comes in again. People I spoke to there say this seems to be a pattern so should be ok.
however beware booking late as the reps pull out end of March and they hinted the snow is more or less gone by then!
We got back from Boro yesterday and it desperately needs snow. It is fine at the tops but very slushy at the bottom and in the town centre. It was 8 degrees at the rila yesterday and felt very warm. The gondola was shut a few days too. Fingers crossed for snow soon.
January is supposed to be the coldest time of the year too - I can't believe it is so warm up there at the foot of the mountains at 1350 metres altitude, it should never go above freezing.
I'm going to Borovets Feb 23rd fingers crossed then Canada next time
