As I have previosuly predicted, the warm weather in BG at the moment is coming to an end this coming weekend and there should be a small dump of snow Saturday into Sunday. I say 'should' but depend how how quickly the temperatures drop at resort levels.Fingers crossed

Mark,Are you working in the met office? . Have to agree that its going to get colder out there, the eastern european 10 day forecast certainly predicts an end to the warm spell.
Hope it will be enough for Pamps and Borovets to recover the seson.

Cheers for the update Mark.I'm off to Pamporovo on Saturday and absolutely bricking it because of the lack of snow. I've read contradicting reports about the snow fall in Pamps. If someone offered you a million to correctly predict whether or not I'll be able to ski next week what would you say?

Dont know a lot about Pamps, altitude etc but at 1700m ASL temps are due to drop to 0c on Saturday with snow and -3 to -5 at 1700m on Sunday with snow. Amount of snow required to cover all rocks, bumps and the odd empty can off beer is not known for Pamps so in answer to your question...It depends !

GregI too fly out to Pamps on Sat, from E Mids. As for the snow, the most important thing is the fact that the temps are due to drop below freezing, so the snow cannons can get to work again!... Any natural snow falling as well will be a bonus!

Hi TrevorI did read a bit about that over at snow-forecast.com, so that's a bit of good news I suppose. I'm flying from Bristol at 1.30pm and staying at The Murgavets. Might see you on the slopes (more likely in the bar though!)

GregAlso staying at Murgavets, my flight is at 1.20pm (Balkan) so we'll be on the same bus upto Pamps. This year is my 21st going to BG and about my 35th trip (mostly to Pamps) so there ain't much I don't know about the place. Give me a shout if there's anything you need to know.

Ah great stuff! Well one thing I would like to know is if there's anything to do other than sit in the bars if there's no snow? Although I'm pretty convinced we'll get a couple of days skiing, I'm worried I'll get fed up of lager by day 3!Also, what's The Murgavets like? Very mixed reviews from what I've read.

I'm sure you will ski all week, I've been to Pamp when its been much worse than this!.. And skiied all week down the edges of runs on a 2 metre wide snow edge and picking out a track along the rest of the way. That's real fun and a challenge! That was before they had the cannons, now with the low temps forecast they'll be blasting away day and night.
Murgavets is great!.. Smack in the middle of Pamps with all the bars and restaurants yards away! Ski bus right outside in the ...
