The recent cold snap is coming to an end, apart from Saturday (12th) where temps are going to drop sharply from today’s temperature, but this is only until Sunday when they start to increase again. By Wednesday, lower altitudes are expected to reach +2 or 3c or maybe higher and this is not good. A short drop in temperatures before they go back up again for next weekend, but this is a little way off yet. Remember these figures are for resorts below about 1500m ASL or so.

The only good thing is lots of snow to come during Tomorrow which is expected to last the whole day with cold temperatures. Apart from that there is no indication of any snow again until midweek.
This is where the problem lies and it may not be a major one. It is becoming very unsettled for about 5 days, from Wednesday, with lots of precipitation to come with it. Now it all rests with the temperatures whether this will fall as rain or snow. Higher levels (above 1700M ASL) will see snow and plenty of it over the 5 days but lower levels may see a fair bit of rain, but I am fairly confident that the rain will change to snow quickly as the upper levels of air is cold. To be honest, it is really difficult to predict the rain/snow forecast at lower levels though.
I will keep you updated and do not worry if it is a few days before I do a post. It is only because I am watching data closely to give you the best possible forecast.
Keep the dancing going folks !
Thanks Mark, you say it as it is, which is great. Keep the forecasts coming, I only trust yours!( oh and Kas's out the window forecasts! ) seems like its looking good for everyone this week.

Mark IOW, although i love to read your forecasts, they are rarely right and what you do say is on all of the local weather forecasts that are again rarely right. on the odd occasion you do predict snow (at a ski resort) you are back on the site saying I told you so. been reading your posts for too long now and feel the need to air my views. my suggestion is to watch the bbc ski forecast on tv late thursday night . they also look at charts/ tables to make their forecasts. they are rarely ...

Banskoboy,
I think you must ave had one over the eight! Have you been following MarkIOW's forecasts for long cos I have and they're more accurate than most ( if not all! ). Remember, he's not paid to do this, it's for our benefit...or maybe it's not Bansko centred enough for you.! Lol
Queenie.
I appreciate he is not paid to do it and he does it for all our benefit. maybe we should tip off the bulgarian & uk tv and web sites and ask them to contact mark for his forecasts before they go on air. at the end of the day, even with no snow, the cannons provide enough white stuff to ski most of the runs (at least in bansko where the snow making equipment is top notch Queenie)
