Hi Folks,
What a funny old season it is starting to be and very similar to the season of 2010/2011 but do not fret just yet !

Temperatures are going to drop slightly tomorrow (17th) to the seasonable average for a short while before they rise again to a horrible +4 or 5c at 1500m ASL by Friday. There is some snow to come overnight tonight into tomorrow but this could fall as rain below 1500m ASL during the day.

During Thursday, temperatures are going to drop again getting cold and below freezing until Sunday where, again, they are to rise. There are signs that there is a significant amount of snow to come Thursday night through to Saturday but also it is going to be windy.

As I said, Sunday is all change again with sunny skies Sunday and Monday and showers on Tuesday. The problem is going to the temperatures. By Monday morning, temperatures will be +5 or +6c which is not good. Temperatures will start to drop again from Tuesday onwards but a slow drop all week. By the end of the week, it looks like to be around zero or +1c in the daytimes which is not a huge drop.

A very unsettled period is coming from Monday evening which is looking like it is going to last a week with lots of ‘precipitation’. This could mean rain or snow and it is all down to temperatures and elevation. This is really hard to predict, so I am not going to ! if temps drop more than ive suggested then it is a good week of snow, albeit not heavy snow.

Having seen comments from some people, I base my forecast around Borovets but try to encompass the other resorts. The trouble is, they all can be different as the 3 main BG resorts can have different weather at the same time hence it may be predicted to snow in Borovets but Bansko has nothing.
