I come out at the weekend and am desperate to know what's going on. Have the snow cannons been on yet? Is it true there are only reds on and they're like black due to ice? My kids are very good intermediates. Am feeling sicker by the day worrying my kids won't get to ski as it'll be shut. Can anyone fill us in or tell us what to expect by Monday please?
Thanks in advance
I have seen snow forecast on a few sites but then it said that last week and no joy. So, do you honestly think there will definitely be slopes open?? I am driving my hubby mad worrying!
Hi Skatergirl,
Please let me put your mind at rest.
The conditions are not as bad as some people have made out. We returned from a week there tonight and we skied every day. There are plenty of slopes open to keep you and your children entertained. As per my earlier post just get out there early in the morning cos the slopes get pisted every night and therefore conditions are good and it's less busy. I'm sure you'll have a great time, especially with the forecast snow due Fri/Sat!
Enjoy and stop panicking!
Hi
Just to reiterate what Queenie said. We were out from 22 to 29 December & they kept as many slopes open as possible by using the snow cannons & moving the snow to the relevant slopes with the plough machines. Loads of people were moaning (as is the British way)instead of just taking advantage of what was available. Yes it was a bit hairy in places but we all got in enough skiing by doing as Queenie said...get out early to take advantage of the fresh snow.
Thank you both! I was just worrying because there seemed to be more slopes closing by the day and then no snow cannons on because it was too warm. I read today all the reds were like black due to ice. I prefer reds/blues but don't like skiing on ice. Hubby is same. Kids can do blacks and reds but I would worry about ice.
My worry is that with each day another piste would be closed so that by we arrive there'll be nothing open and

it all looks like a scene from "The Sound of Music"!! My kids love to ski and we save all yr on a very limited budget for this. Only booked it less than 2 weeks ago and the next day the doom and gloom was broadcast!
So long as there are slopes for my kids to do, I won't even care if I can't ski. Well, I will care, but you know what I mean!
Thanks so much and I hope to hear good news on here.
