its true, Merryan went, due to none payment to the bank, it is such a shame as this was a lovely cosy hotel, Orpheus went due to the bank foreclosure, White heart due to buiding on land that was not theirs to build on and costing a British family all of their savings and more in a four year court battle. Where one closed another opened on the slopes though. Hotels are suffering, tour operators are squeezing them dry, taxes are increasing etc it is only the DIY holiday makers keeping them ...

Hotels are suffering, tour operators are squeezing them dry, taxes are increasing etc it is only the DIY holiday makers keeping them going but it is really difficult to compete, many have to make cuts where posible due to the low prices the tour operators offer and there is no nogotiation, the problem is that service suffers due to not enough staff, cheaper quality of food, lower setting with heating and that is just the start.
Phil, nobody can ever take away the excitement that Pamporovo brings, it is the best ski season for over 20 years, there are new places open to eat and drink, i am just stating the facts! i have lived and worked here for over 7 years, my ears are very close to the ground, it is no secret that i have an vested interest in the resort and i promote it more than most, however what i state is true fact. Here here! And certainly we should always try to support the local and independant businesses Competition is good and healthy and should be encouraged to keep standards high and prices competitive. Good businesses with good reputations will prosper.
How about posting a list of good local bars on this board, everyone will read it and for people like me, 1st time in Bulgaria, will be good guide to where to go this year in Pamps!!
