For those who are genuinely interested, I have now agreed in principle to a price for the dog that the owner says he wants for it and I am now awaiting Pete's confirmation that they have accepted the offer.

I'm maybe seeing through the reason why the dog had been placed there now. The owner has said that many people wanted to buy the dog, but nobody would pay the price.

Should know for certain by tomorrow.
