What happens up there after the snow melts??

Just thinking - I've checked the Bansko cam every day - (it's become a compulsive obsessive disorder now) -and I'm wondering - what goes on up there now - today and tomorrow??? ...the cafes and bars shut down??, the perishables are brought down etc??.... what else?? how far can you go up 'walking' in summer......WHO KNOWS?? hey Ping,
I was in bansko last summer and it was great, and i have been to bansko 6 times, in all seasons. In the summer you can walk right to the top of the mountain with just a little effort. However what is easier is driving up, the drive is fantastic and one road ( if you can call them that) goes across the tomba run. Also people camp about half way up the mountain to the right hand side of the mountain. Good thing about going up the mountain is that is really nice and cool, as down in ...
hey Ping,
I was in bansko last summer and it was great, and i have been to bansko 6 times, in all seasons. In the summer you can walk right to the top of the mountain with just a little effort. However what is easier is driving up, the drive is fantastic and one road ( if you can call them that) goes across the tomba run. Also people camp about half way up the mountain to the right hand side of the mountain. Good thing about going up the mountain is that is really nice and cool, as down in the village its around 100*C. Also where people camp there is a thriving cafe/bar. Also biking is popular on the mountain, plus there are tracks up the mountain. Also there are really nice pinic/BBQ areas all the way up the mountain road, but sometimes they can get quite busy so your half to get there early for the prime cooking areas.
Hope this answers your question.

P.S watch for the Bears Wink

re: What happens up there after the snow melts??

Has anyone seen the webcams in Chile and 'western South America during our summertime?? They get awesome snow and the resorts never ever get packed. It's just a lonnnnnnnnnng way to go and it isn't a direct flight. Believe me I checked it out as I suffer big time waiting for yearly ski break!
Don't get me wrong Iike the long days of summer - but a beachy type holiday just doesn't compare with the fun, crack, exertion and downright craziness (like - you stand at the top of a mountain dude - ...
