Since the nice cafe at the top of chair 12, runs 5 and 10 burnt down, we found the nearby 'goat' cafe to be very pleasant, sat by the huge log fire for coffee and home made honey cake early in the morning after the first few runs, nice when it's quiet and didn't seem that expensive, never tried it for lunch though.
Its right at the bottom of run 8. The webcam on this site for Bansko is right above the place!!!!
Chicken Kebab!!!!! Just Beautifull!!!!
Plenty of all the other choices, and they cosy way less than the Ulen restaurants. Last week I paid 27 Lev for a bit of chicken, chips and a beer at Ulen. At friends I paid 12 Lev!!!
There are 6 areas to eat, shilli, Bunderitsa meadow (3 tuns, yellow round bar, fast food buffet and a pizza place), plato, the bar on the edge of tomba, chalin valog (not sure whats here) and finally in bansko town.
The yellow bars are best for hot chocolate breaks and are found at shilli, valog, banderitsa and on the edge of tomba.
The cheapest restaurants are in bansko town. but if you want to stay up the higher you go the cheaper it gets
Its not that cheap higher up, had chicken, chips and choc in the goat and it was 24lev, not expensive by alpine standards i agree, but friends does seem to be far the best on the mountain. Youre never that far from it either, unless you are down at chalin valog of course.
Just to inform, `Bla Bla' is the Ulen restaurant at Shilligarnika... i must admit to having a `Banski' sausage there early season, from the kiosk outside, and it was not bad... but still bloody expensive
