I'll give you 1O good reasons why I believe Bulgaria will always be No. 1 for me------- for at least the next 1O years.
1. Regardless of prices, it will always be cheaper than any of the other main European destinations.
2. The people of Bulgaria will make you more welcome than anywhere else in Europe.
3. The nightlife is wicked, and keeps going as long as you do.
4. The weather is fantastic, and most people ski in brilliant sunshine rather than freezing cold conditions.

5. It's only a 3 hour flight from hell to heaven.
6. The drinks are so cheap (and always will be v UK prices.)
7. The instructors are the best in Europe.
8. In 13 years, I have yet to witness any aggro.
9. Hire equiptment is of a very high standard.
10. Last but not least, this board. What other country gives you the opportunity to learn so much about your destination and share your concerns, passions, and experiences as BulgariaSki does. Developed and run by Bulgarian people, for people who want to have fun.
This board is getting over 1,000 read per day now, and that is awsome. 82% of readings are from UK based people, and the banter is always first class.
Give me 1 good reason why anywhere else is better
See you in 2007.
Remember, if you are in Bansko or Pamporovo on the last week of Jan or first week of Feb 2007 and you can identify me, all you need to do is say, You are PP and I claim my free drink, and I will buy you a double!!!!!!!
Correct me if I am wrong but Bulgaria is just OK for beginners who are happy to stay in a hotel whose swimming pool is not heated, who do not mind the outdated lifts or if their hotel roof falls on their heads from time to time or if their skis get stolen, who like their (cheap) drink and/or who cannot afford to ski in France, Austria, Italy or North America.
That about sums it up, I believe... Or as one of the British broadsheets recently said, Bulgaria ...
You have to be joking, mate!

John , I haven't heard of any roofs falling or unheated pools-maybe you made a poor hotel choice. This can happen in any country, including the ones you mention.
May I ask where you stayed?
gosh, he must have missed all the Bulgarian women out there or maybe he just like Western women? they knock the socks off most of us Brits, and as for the bulgarian men wow wow wow.....
John - wish you could have experienced the real Bulgaria, you would know what the draw is and that it is not to do with the low prices, I have a Bulgarian friend who lives in England and generally always go over with them and they have shown me some wonderful places and I have met some wonderful people, and ...

You cannot please all the people all the time.
I went to Pamporovo last year and loved it. Going to Bansko 4th March. Bulgaria is cheap but if it was crap, I wouldn't be going back. The people are friendly and you don't feel like a tramp if you're not wearing the latest designer gear
John you are not up to date with your comments on ski lifts. Go to Bulgaria and you may find out you are talking dribble. The ski lifts in Bansko are practically brand new.
I met some French skiers in Bansko a couple of weeks ago who say they are fed up of paying through their nose for shoddy service at home.
There were plenty of young attractive western girls there when I was there. You must be blind.
