sorry pete chris has it spot on the button bulgaria has invested millons on its infrustructure upgrading slopes ,equipment, developing roads talk of building airports, new gondola,golf courses in general coming into line with mainstream europe and out of old comunism ways building a better future for all bulgarians with the outlook of finding employment with multi national companys wanting to invest in bulgaria.
the mayor of bansko i believe has now stopped allowing building permits within bansko town to developers.

This site advertises the selling of property on this site and the Sunny Beach site, they too are helping along with the rest of the agencies to sell property, are you not part of the running of both sites Pete?
you will not stop people buying, yes I agree its not a good market for people wanting to rent the properties - I doubt they will get back enough to pay the annual repayments etc... not like in other countries, but anyone who loves the country is not going to be buying for rent purposes as an investment just for their own pleasure, I do know what you mean, it would be lovely to have Sunny Beach as a quiet area with lots of trees etc, but those days are gone, unfortunately we and the Bulgarian people have to move with the times - I am sure the Bulgarians are much happier to do this than we are to see their country spoilt.

in some ways pete i agree with you, although I have a property in spain, but we do not let it and it is for me my family and close friends, one of the problems that has come about in the area that we have bought is lack of water during the summer months the population inscreases drastically and they are findind it difficult to keep up with the extra water supply, as a result we have to fill containers with water just in case it goes off, also the electricity supply is a problem in high season just the same and far from bringing in vast amounts of jobs for the local it is the english who are benifitting open resturants to attract yet more british, the thing that i always find laughable is when the british mone that the local dont speak the language(english that is not spanish)? they move there and think the spanish should learn english, I am sure the tourist in bulgaria are the same and if we are not carful the same issues will develope there. plus i can believe that it is spanish property developers that have moved there the market has slowed down ten fold due to the price rises, you can see them rising in bulgaria the only thing you can hope is they will rise to high for the brits and the developers will move to the next new area.

We came back from Borovets last week. While we were there I had a conversation with my Bulgarian ski instructor, who said that due to all the people wanting to buy properties to rent out the price has increased so much that the ordinary Bulgarian can't afford to buy a house now. He also thinks that the summer holiday business will go bust within a few years due to competition from Greece & Turkey, while the winter ski business will boom as there is no competition.So if you must buy property perhaps better to buy in a ski resort.
