Why is it...

That when I drove to Gillingham in Kent yesterday, it took me about 2 hrs 20 mins (ca. 150 miles) and today - because of a misley 3 inches of snow - it took me 2 hrs 30 mins to drive to Basingstoke (ca. 50 miles) What is wrong with this country.....

How can Bulgaria cope with many feet of snow and places like British Columbia cope with 30 + feet of snow and they can keep the roads moving????

Flammin' ridiculous I think

re: Why is it...

Because when it snow's in Briton everyone panics and leave work / school early. This leads to roads having more traffic than can cope with.
This leads to JAM's and massive delays.

So why? Were not used to it and don't trust council's etc. to keep roads gritted.

re: Why is it...

Best thing is to cycle.

I cycled home from work it took 20 minutes to do 3 miles. Quiet a fast speed for the traffic last night. The funny thin is most poeples journey to and from work are under 5miles ie its walkable/ cycleable.

Why dont that lazy car drives get out off there big ase and get fit at the same time.

Need to get get that off my chest
Thanks
Michael from Bedfordshire

PS Yes I do own my a car also, but not for silly short journeys

re: Why is it...

That be cos your a professional driver though bud - but yeah, it is damn annoying, not just the other drivers, but the councils who know the snow is coming, but don't do anything about it

Will your boss be getting the bus next week??

re: Why is it...

Next week, I really don't give a s**t what he does, althought this morning he tells me he is getting someone in to drive my car Sad not a happy bunny about that, the last person to borrow and drive my car smashed it up, and it was never the same again!

I dropped him at an appointment last night, and went round all the back streets getting to know the new car (Audi A8L), I always like to get to know what the boundaries are.

44.5ish hours to go WOOHOO

re: Why is it...

So, got a brand spanking new one then have you....you really cann't trust anyone else with it, why not rent a Micra or something and let the temp driver have that. LOL. Does the car usually go home with you, or does it need to stay with boss man?

re: Why is it...

Yes IMt it was quite a good slip of the tongue eh?! I am of the same opinion as Ally here about people driving in the snow. Some idiot broke down in the middle lane of the M1 today how I never hit him/her I dont know! The thing is they just stoppped instead of coasting onto the hard shoulder wich they should have been able to do easly as they where going at 40mph on a downward strecth! Mad
