Last night I put up several posts - some of which have been deleted. One was of the link to the Alpina poker night - now this is shown in other threads and PP even made reference to Julie putting the link up and Julie said she did not know how which was why I did when I mentioned it. PP ???

There are several ongoing requests at the moment about info for hotels, eateries and the like for Bansko. Whilst I sometimes wonder why people don't bother to search more on the internet or look at previous threads, I am more than happy to give any information that may be helpful and did a thread with a link to Kemp Hotel, Perun hotel, an apartment site - is this deemed as advertising and therefore removed for that reason? Don't see the difference between mentioning Perun or Kemp and giving a helpful link

I was also asked wherelse I went and put a link to SkiDVD. This has been deleted.

So - to clarify - is it OK to mention other sites/hotels and helpful information but not to give links.

I am disappointed to be honest. Many I know do not come here any more but I still do as see lots of questions about Bansko and like to be helpful/possibly meet new faces when out there.

I do get fed up when many do not take the time to thank you for info given on the board or sometimes even via email and if I am going to be deleted then maybe I should not bother anymore either!!

Thanks for comments Borogirl and Sarah. Will still come on here but not putting links up - I think it may be the site owners viewing it as advertising but the only quibble on that is that several other people have put up the link to the Alpina and it has NOT been deleted only MINE which then makes it feel rather personal!

Also I do not see the harm in putting a link to say the Perun or wherever - to me it speeds up the process for others looking for info - if you could not advertise then you would not be allowed to even mention the places surely. I suppose the reverse of that is that you can book Perun etc through this site and by me putting the links up they may think it encourages people to book with the hotel direct rather than via here. To be honest when I put links up it is purely to show a picture of the hotel and list their facilities - did not enter my head about any person booking direct etc. Anyway - that is my guess...

Ryki - posts defo gone because for example my Alpina one lists 2 posts - they were both me - one saying look at poker action - then I did another underneath saying here it is with a link - it has gone. My other posts mentioning other ski site and links to hotels were mid-thread with Mel and on the Bansko review post. These are gone.

Ne'er mind - would just like to hear from whoever as to why this is and the reason Alpina is OK to post by some and not me
